‘Ty’ is Welsh for house and ‘Beic’ is Welsh for bike and is the name of our holiday cottages near Bala, North Wales.
We chose the name because we are obsessed by cycling in all of its forms. We chose this area because it offers some of the finest mountain biking and road cycling in the UK.
We have restored two stone barns to provide self catering holiday accommodation in North Wales. Situated in the hamlet of Sarnau, 4 miles from the market town of Bala in Snowdonia, our accommodation is the perfect base to explore North Wales. We are approximately 40 minutes drive from the mountain bike centres of Coed y Brenin, Llandegla, Antur Stiniog (Blaenau Ffestiniog), Revolution Bike Park (Llangynog), One Giant Leap (Llangollen) and the ClimachX, Marin and Penmachno MTB trails.
The area is also superb for road cycling, with quiet country roads, beautiful scenery and epic climbs (and descents) on the doorstep.
Places to Ride
Our Session downhill bike is available to demo here.
One Giant Leap has been created to build and develop tracks that are accessible for all, regardless of ability. All our tracks are challenging but track 3 has been designed for fun for experts and beginners alike. Coaching is available for expert instruction on riding our tracks using their own training track based at the foot of our hill.
Outside of official events, only club members are allowed to ride the tracks. It is possible to do your own uplifts using the road to the East of the track. All club members must display their club wrist band on the seat post whilst riding the tracks.
